House of Jerky began in 1993 with a clear mission - sell amazing jerky! Our first store opened in Temecula,California, offering handcrafted jerky made from premium cuts of meat, real ingredients and no preservatives.

Open Road and beyond

Soon after, Ron Hargett, our founder, and Janie Honeycutt, took that same jerky on the road. They shared the bags of bold, flavorful jerky and helped others set up their own House of Jerky stores around the country. That spirit of adventure, connection and craftmanship still defines House of Jerky today.
